In order to provide our services, we collect personal information as defined by the
Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA):
- Identity Information: Name, ID number (for Pros), and profile photos.
- Contact Information: Email address, phone number, and physical service
addresses.
- Financial Information: Payment details are processed through encrypted
third-party gateways (we do not store your full card details).
Purpose of Processing
Trakr only processes your data for specific, lawful purposes:
- To connect Customers with Professional contractors.
- To facilitate secure escrow payments.
- To verify the credentials and identity of contractors for community safety.
- To provide customer support and mediate disputes.
Location Data
Professionals: We collect background location data from Professionals to
enable the "Live Tracking" feature for Customers. This tracking is only active when a Pro is
en route to or currently at a job site.
Customers: We use your location to show you available Professionals in your
immediate area and to set the service delivery address.
Data Security & Storage
We implement industry-standard security measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss, or
damage to your personal information. All data is encrypted both in transit and at rest.
Your data is stored on secure servers and is only accessible by authorized personnel who
require it to perform their duties.
Your Rights Under POPIA
As a user, you have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Right to Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold
about you.
- Right to Rectification: You can update or correct your information at
any time via the app settings.
- Right to Deletion: You can request that we delete your account and all
associated personal data (subject to legal record-keeping requirements).
